On November 4th, The Audubon Center at Debs Park was invited by our partner Mujeres de la Tierra to create an altar for their Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens.  Our altar celebrated extinct birds like the Passenger Pigeon and important conservationists like Rachel Carson, Harriet Lawrence Hemenway and Minna Hall who paved the way for modern conservation efforts.
